Enterprise Florida

Enterprise Florida is non-profit partnership between Florida's business and government leaders and is the principal economic development organization for the state. 

 

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) serves as Florida's statewide economic development agency. DEO's programs and activites provide businesses with financial assistance, technical assistance, workforce development, training, and placement services. 

 

GrowFL GrowFL is an economic development program dedicated to helping established companies no longer in the startup stage by providing strategies, resources and support for next level growth. Based on the philosophy of Economic Gardening®—to grow existing businesses in a community, region or state - the program helps companies overcome obstacles to growth and leads them towards prosperity.

 

The guidelines for participants include:

  • A second-stage company, headquartered in Florida

  • 10-99 employees

  • $1 million to $50 million in revenue

  • Intellectual Property and/or strategy to sell outside the State of Florida

 

 

PoweringFlorida

Florida Power and Light Company offers online resources dedicated to helping businesses start up, expand or relocate their operations in Florida. The site showcases the diverse benefits of doing business in Florida and empowers all of our local communities with tools to help them to market the unique values that each corner of the state has to offer. PoweringFlorida combines the power of both Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Planning and Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI) workforce data to explore and compare communities, evaluate labor and demographic data, and identify available sites.

 

Florida High Tech Corridor

The Florida High Tech Corridor Council is a regional economic development initiative of three of the country's largest research institutions - the University of Florida (UF), the University of Central Florida (UCF), and the University of South Florida (USF). This technologically rich region stretches across 23 counties and promotes high tech industry growth and innovation through partnerships that support research, marketing, workforce and entrepreneurship.

The Council's skilled workforce serve 20,000 high tech companies throughout the region. As well, the Council provides programs aimed at inspiring young students to pursue math and sciences and entrepreneur resources to connect small-business owners with the tools they need to start, grow or relocate their business.

Florida Sports Foundation

Florida Sports Foundation's aims to create significant economic benefits for Florida through grant programs, leadership, and assisting in the development of professional, amateur and participatory sports for Florida citizens

 

Space Florida

As Florida's aerospace development organization, Space Florida is committed to attracting and expanding the next generation of space and aerospace industry businesses. Space Florida's statutory powers enable it to function as a government entity when interfacing with NASA and the U.S. Air Force. 

Some of Space Florida's programs include:

  • Spaceport infrastructure and facilities development

  • Conduit debt financing

  • Off balance sheet financing

  • Research and Development support

 

Florida Small Business Development Center / University of North Florida

‚ÄčThe Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (FSBDC at UNF) provides potential and existing business owners with confidential consulting and training in all aspects of business management and growth. Experienced consultants help business owners develop strategies to increase sales, create jobs and improve profitability.


SCORE Citrus County 
SCORE is a non-profit organization that helps small businesses start and expand by offering free counseling, mentoring, and local workshops. The organization consists mainly of senior managers with years of relevant and real-world experience that provide confidential counseling on many small business issues.

 

Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center
Florida Virtual Entreprenuer Center (FLVEC) is a free web portal that provides a one-stop directory for new entrepreneurs, local businesses and companies expanding or relocating in Florida to find and get connected with resources and information to aid and accelerate their success. 



The Florida Scorecard
The Florida Scorecard provides metrics for local stakeholders to measure progress of Florida's current and future economy.
